33 Random Things About Quinn Wright
Rather than give you the usual stats, here are 33 things to know about me.
- I was born in Southfield, grew up in a little town called Royal Oak Township (aka The Charter Township of Royal Oak. Not to be confused with The City of Royal Oak. It’s worth a Google when you’re free). I’ve now lived in Madison Heights for nearly 20 years on both the north and south sides of town.
- I have 3 fiercely, intelligent, compassionate, caring daughters: Sydney, Simonne ( Yes, it has two “N’s” on purpose. Ask me about it sometime), and Seda. #girldad
- I have one dog, George Jones Wright. He’s a golden doodle and half-wild beast. Lol.
- I married my college sweetheart, Kaela. I wouldn’t be who I am without her. 😊
- As a kid, I always wanted to go into law enforcement. I come from a family of officers. My grandfather was an officer, as were a couple of my uncles and my brother. I always loved the flashing lights and being able to speed everywhere.
- I am always driven to do what’s right. If I were a Marvel superhero I’d be Captain America, but not the happy-go-lucky version. I’d be Captain American in Avengers Endgame that had lived a little and had seen that all that glitters isn’t gold.
- I was a drummer from 4th grade through my senior year in high school. My high school marching band made it to the State Finals.
- My family and I love Hamilton, the musical. My wife and I saw it live before COVID, and we often find ourselves listening to it when we can’t take any more Kid ‘ N Play.
- I smoke the most amazing ribs on this side of Oakland County. Test me on this one. YOU WILL LOSE.
- I met my wife when we were both studying abroad in Sydney, Australia.
- Sydney is also the name of our oldest born because that’s where we met.
- I used to ride motorcycles but stopped because I have a little Ricky Bobby in me from Talladega Nights and I want to go fast! I have kids and responsibilities so excessive speeding is no longer in the protocol, per my minivan.
- I enjoy cold brew coffee. It just tastes better.
- I graduated from Michigan State University where Fun Fact: I was Student Body President ( Associated Students of MSU – Student Assembly Chair)
- I served on the Board of Directors at Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health, as a Parent Liaison for P3 Pritzker/Think Babies of Michigan program, and do fatherhood work with Everybody Ready Foundation.
- I attend Central Church (been there for almost a decade now), and through there I’ve completed quite a bit of community service throughout Madison Heights.
- I have been involved with the Madison Heights Hazel Park Chamber and am a big supporter of small businesses.
- I started a group dedicated to supporting small businesses, creators, and entrepreneurs of Madison Heights called The Trail Blazer Society.
- I have 20+ years of business and finance experience.
- I am a Financial Advisor.
- I met Ashley Judd once, waiting for an elevator. My wife always gets embarrassed when I tell this story.
- I helped found an endowment for students going to MSU called the Spartan 313 Endowment. It provides scholarships to high school students. I’m also served as the President of the MSU alumni group, The Detroit Spartans. Go Green!
- I LOVE pizza and Chinese food. LC’s Kitchen is one of my all-time favorites.
- All of the most important people in my life are pieces that I didn’t plan out.
- I love to get audiobooks and not finish them.
- The Breakfast Club is my favorite breakfast spot.
- Col’s Place is our family’s go-to stop for food.
- Penn Station is my favorite sub shop hands down. Those fries though.
- I have an inexplicably large gym shoe collection for a middle-aged man.
- Our favorite thing to do as a family is to walk around the parks and go to the library. It’s really not about the destination. It’s about doing it together.
- I like DIY projects. There’s currently a rain barrel project calling my name.
- I’m a social being. I love meeting new people. I’m the guy who has no problem talking to anyone in the room.
- I love Madison Heights because it’s a great place to raise a family, it’s affordable, safe, has great schools, and has limitless potential.
